Welcome to Red Raku Press

Red is a highly valued color in the art of pottery especially in Raku. It implies rarity and craftsmanship.  In Japanese, the character for Raku means fun or enjoyment. Raku is also the name of something I have cherished, so I use it here as a reminder.

There is a clear distinction between writing and publishing.  I have chosen to do both.  My imprint recognizes the professional craft of editing, designing, formatting, and marketing a manuscript that my other-self wrote. I work with professionals for copy editing and graphic design.

Independent publishing – indie publishing – is very possible today with the advent of computers, online programs, e-publishing and social marketing.  Celebrate the freedom!
